my DD has started to do this weird thing where she clenches her teeth and shakes her hands in front of her like she is angry or something. Twice tonight I've asked her if she's ok and she isn't actually cross or frustrated.
Am a little bit worried :(

How old is she? When does she do it? Not enough info!

My friend's dd had a really wierd habit at the same age. Going on all 4s, lifting one leg and clenching teeth. She was really worried and got a referal. They said it was just a habit and was actually not uncommon to develop wierd habits! I'd see your hv to put your mind at rest.

She's 2y 3m.

One happened when DP went to the shop when I was putting her to bed. I took her hands and gently asked her if she was ok and she said 'daddy's going to the shop. Do you want to go to the shop? Go to the shop. Go swimming. Go to the park.'. So I wasn't sure if she was a bit annoyed that he had gone without her?

She doesn't do it often but when she does she seems 'focused' on it and a little bit spaced out. She's easily distracted from it though and doesn't necessarily seem cross or frustrated when you talk to her when she's doing it.

So it might just be a strange habit!? Did your friend's DC grow out of it Jezabelle?

It was only about 2 months or so ago. Last saw her a few weeks ago and she said she still did it sometimes but they assured her she should grow out of it.
