Behaviour/development

Is there anyway of making a child realise that life is better when you do things the easy way?

My DS is 6 and he has daily nebulisers.

If he sat there and breathed like he has been taught over and over again to they would be done in a matter of 5 mins. I have explained this to him.

However he breathes twice, takes it out his mouth and cries, whinges, breathes agan, cries whinges... blah blah blah and it is taking anywhere up to an hour for him to get it done.

How can i make him realise that if he just got on with it life would be 100x easier?!

do you hold it to his face? Perhaps let him hold it himself?

I wear a mask at night (respiratory depression) and at first I felt SO claustraphobic. I started to panic when I put the mask on and would rip it off. It took me ages to get used to wearing it all night.

What about practising several times a day. Just putting it in his mouth and seeing how long he can keep it there?

He has a mouth peice rather than amask and he holds it himself.
He knows how to do it, he can do its just he wont.

For instance if he is playing i will say '5 minutes until nebs' he will be fine but then when it comes to it he will cry and moan about wanting to play more...

Im trying to get him to realise that if he did the nebuliser he would be back playing within 5 minutes but if he crys and whinges about it he will be an hour before going back and playing.
