For a boy?

Surname is one syllable and starts with S.

Honest opinions welcome!

TIA

My friend just had a baby girl and named her Casey. To me it's a girl's name, sorry. Caleb is nice though!

I know a few and they are all girls, so I always think of it as a girls name

Is a girl's name to me.

Not necessarily a girl's name, IMO - what about Casey Jones?

Not keen on it for a girl or boy, tbh - but you don't know me - so why does it matter what I think? Go for it, if you like it. I've definitely heard worse.

My dd knows a girl called Casey. I don't thik it's particularly feminine, but I don't consider it mascualine enough either.

I know a male Casey - American. And indeed (t.g. someone mentioned it before I did) - Casey Jones was a man.

Not sure I particularly like the name though.

My nephew is called Casey and tbh at first I wasn't keen. My nephew is such a funny and lovely 13 year old that now I just couldn't imagine him with any other name and its really grown on me.

If you like it, go for it

The only Casey I've come across is Casey Jones. Not keen on it - a bit too American

Ben Affleck's brother is called Casey.

I think it's as bad as Corey.

I think it sounds too American.

Even if you are American, I don't like it, sorry .

Thanks everyone - I did suspect it might be a bit girly. I know it in the context of Casey Stoner, motoGP champ, so not remotely girly! And also Casey Affleck, who was mentioned by auntycam.

I also take the 'too American' comments - I wondered that too.

I do still like it, and loved LouMacca's story! I think it would probably grow on people. We certainly like it, but wanted to gauge popular opinion before we made the decision, so thanks!

Any other thoughts welcome.

I know a male Casey, his name really suits him.

I wouldn't use it, but I quite like it.
