boys names needed

I have my girls names sorted but am at a loss for boys, have very common boring surname, 2 syllables.

I may have pregnancy induced paranoia brought on by pregnancy tiredness but I simply can't come up with a name, and my dh and I are stumped.

I might even in desperation choose the name that is posted in the 50th post of this thread.

Come on mumsnetters - inspire me.

I am a few weeks away from popping.

Depends on whether you want something nice but unusual, old fashioned, strangely unusual, or just a plain nice name.

How about:

Andrew, Ben, Corren, Derren, Eric, Finn, George, Harry, Isaac, Joshua, Kyle, Liam, Marcus, Norman, Oliver, Pete, Quentin, Russ, Shaun, Taylor, Uri, Victor, Warren, ?, ?, Zac

If in doubt use the alphabet, that's what we did when we could'nt decide ona girl Wrote down a load of names and we would score them off when we were'nt sure until we were left with 1 that we liked. Random I know but still

Riley is common too. Oliver is common but tis more classic than Riley (which is a surname is it not?)

If you tell us what girls' names you like, we may be able to help you more (knowing what style of name you gravitate to).

What is your girls name? Are there any names that you like from the lists?

Report
pinkfizzle · 11/10/2009 13:21

My fav girls name was Mia Grace.

Yes I am going through the lists and seeing what I like.

So far I like Harrison, Oliver, Zach - will check on this later.

oh I like Cruz but then I just think of Tom and Penelope, so I don't think I could use it.

Tom/Thomas, Sam/Samuel, Dylan, Liam, Oliver, William, Alexander, Owen, Harry, Rhys, Shaun.

I think with a "boring" surname a strong, traditional name would work well, nothing too "unusual"

With a very common surname, I'd probably choose a more unique first name. Some lovely suggestions on here already!

Between Oliver and Riley, I'd choose Riley simply because Oliver is so very, very common - there are 2 in my ds's nursery class of 16.
