I like Oliver James.

Luna Beryl I'm not so sure about. Neither name is bad on it's own but the two together don't do it for me. Maybe it's that Beryl doesn't really work as a middle name? Or there's too many Ls? Something, anyway!

lol think beryl will be the middle name no matter what the first name is as it is after my great grand mother that died last year......luna can change tho

Maybe put something between Luna and Beryl? A plain name, like Jane, but not - although Luna Jane Beryl isn't too bad!

Why not Beryl for a first name? It's so pretty and unusual.

everyone i have spoken to says it sounds old which i kinda feel is true
i like your idea of putting a name between them tho

Mmmm I guess there are still lots of older-but-active Beryl's around. More of a grandmotherly name so not old enough to be retro-chic, just old lady.

I like it all the same!

What about:

Luna Jayne Beryl
Luna Grace Beryl
Luna Faith Beryl
Luna Kay Beryl
Luna Paige Beryl
Luna Wynne Beryl

Just tossing out one syllable names that don't being with A, B, C or L, don't have an 'oo' or 'er' sound in the middle (in fact those that have an 'ay' sound seem to work best) and don't have an L in!

It will, of course, now turn out to be a boy and all my hard thinking about names to put between Luna and Beryl will have gone to waste cue theatrical sob

When are you finding out?

Luna's a really pretty name. As long as your surname doesn't begin with a C...

Report
jodie87 · 30/07/2009 00:50

nope its a G

I think of lunar barrel... Luna would work better with something like May or Grace or another one syllable middle name..

You'd better hope that Harry Potter's out of fashion by the time she starts school......

Oliver and James are dull names
Beryl is ugly
Luna is begging someone to add a'tic'.

I immediately think 'Loony Beryl'! I don't like Luna at all. I like both Oliver and James but not together because of Jamie Oliver.

And Oliver James the gloomy mysogenist media psychiatrist

Oh, agree seeker - can't stand the self-satisfied man! . Oliver and James both nice names separately though...

Beryl is a fat old ladies name.

A child called Luna will end up being cally looney or lunatic.

Oliver and James are a bit snoring (meant to write boring but snoring describes them better!)!

i love the name Luna, but i didn't use it as i thought the poor child would end up being called looney luna (as in harry potter).
I understand were you're coming from wanting part of your grandmother in your baby's name,(I wanted to do the same but couldn't lumber the poor child with doris or minnie!) but beryl really isn't that nice.(Sorry) Is there a middle name you could use instead? Or maybe a favourite flower or something else that she liked that you could use?
