Being serious though i really like the name Hermione Grace for DD3 due in sept...and daddy isn't directly against it his main concern is that it is maybe too Harry Potter...i wouldn't mind this comment if i was a big HP fan...oh and maybe a bit posh i am starting to feel really protective now..

on saturday i moaned about having 'Constant' Heartburn and Constance came out of his mouth....aaarrggghhhh i don't hate that but i do love Hermione...HELP

DD1 is called Lara Penelope (mainly dadies choice although i did say no to penelope as a first name..and yes he has played the tomb raider games although not the reason for name)

DD2 is Harriet Paige (Hattie) a fair joint decision

Help me before i go insane..we have asked DD1 what she thinks and she likes Hermione which i think should seal the deal to be honest.

Am i being unfair to dismiss his name choice...may beg whilst in labour blush

Mmmm guess my opinion on Grace? wink

hana Mon 22-Jun-09 18:55:39

love Hermione
Grace is really quite popular, if you don't mind that. a pretty name tho and they go nicely together

pointydog Mon 22-Jun-09 18:56:34

Much prefer Constance to Hernione

Thunderduck Mon 22-Jun-09 19:01:14

Constance is nice. I don't like Hermione one bit.

How would you feel having two children with the same initial - post issues, school confusion?

I love constance and hermione and have a grace of my very own

hana Mon 22-Jun-09 19:04:12

this comes up a lot about the same initials - I have 2 kids with the same initials and it really really isn't a problem! (except when I have to spit the names out in quick succession!)

I loved both names, wasn't worried about the fact they started with same letter.

post confusion - easily sorted, it's not rocket science grin

SoupDragon Mon 22-Jun-09 19:04:42

Constance is dull.

cazzybabs Mon 22-Jun-09 19:05:23

hana - I was just wondering - sorry for being boring

hana Mon 22-Jun-09 19:08:35

nah, not being boring, but I guess this has come up a lot lately. maybe I see it as a criticism of me which is of course utterly ridiculous!

cazzybabs Mon 22-Jun-09 19:10:31

It is something dh and I debate as I like a name with the same initial as one of other children ... he is not keen for that reason, me I cant see a problem..

anyway not pregnant so no issue

and sorry for offending you

sweetfall Mon 22-Jun-09 19:10:42

couldn't name a child Hermoine

have you seen this?

Harry Potter Puppet Pals

cazzybabs Mon 22-Jun-09 19:18:00

sweetfall - that is brilliant

PeppermintCream Mon 22-Jun-09 19:21:50

My sister is called hermione - Mione for short. She hated it at school because nobody had heard of it and always callled her Harmony. She loves it now, and so do I

screamingabdab Mon 22-Jun-09 19:24:28

I much prefer Constance too, and it can be shortened to Connie. I am biased because it was my grandmother's name, and she was fab (lived to 97).

I think Hermione is a bit "posh" (sorry)

mandylifeboats Mon 22-Jun-09 19:27:17

Constance is nice, but doesn't really sit as well with Grace as a middle name as Hermione does IYSWIM

janeite Mon 22-Jun-09 19:35:25

Constance Grace is lovely.
Hermione Grace also lovely, though I agree with the the 'maybe avoid having two H names' suggestion.
I also really like Yolande Grace, which is in a similar style.

jellybeans Mon 22-Jun-09 23:24:48

I don't like it, sorry. But like connie on its own.

MamaLazarou Tue 23-Jun-09 09:14:39

Hermione is way too posh for us: my husband is from Walthamstow.

However, as you already have a Harriet, I would assume you are quite posh, so go for it.

PeachyTheRiverParrettHarlot Tue 23-Jun-09 09:24:14

Two initials is a naming clothes and objects bonusIME- although my three @S' namea (have an H name also) don't all share initials- ds1 andds4 do though

Everything in thios house is either labelled S Peach (H goes to a different school) or The Peach Family

PeachyTheRiverParrettHarlot Tue 23-Jun-09 09:25:09

(Headmistress said after ds4 was named - was it deliberate to have all S names then?'- er no, the one in your school is called Harold FGS!

feelinghunted Tue 23-Jun-09 10:55:46

I think Harry Potter has ruined Hermione (and Harry, tho that wasn't the question!)

Tambajam Tue 23-Jun-09 10:58:21

I like Hermione. Despite Harry Potter it doesn't seem to have caught on particularly. And she's a great character anyway.

thell Tue 23-Jun-09 13:21:10

It's lovely

How about Hermione Constance ?
I think it's nice

MmeLindt Tue 23-Jun-09 13:24:12

Both our DC have the same initial and like Peachy says it does not cause any bother and is particularly good when handing down stuff as everything is labelled C <Surname>
