Baby names

Starting to be unsure

Ok I'm probably being silly but I'd love to hear from other moms.

DH and I have had a near impossible time trying to choose a name for our baby girl due in 7 weeks. We were completely on the same page as far as boys names but different playing fields when it came to girls.

The one day I randomly came across a name in a (totally un-name related) thread and loved it - so did DH. We still tossed around other names but kept coming back to the other name and have been referring to her by that name.

All was fine until yesterday when we met our friends brand new daughter who they named Adelaide - which was number 3 on our list and it just seems to suit her and all of a sudden I'm questioning the name we have in mind and maybe it won't suit her? DH is worried I've gone off it because he loves it but I'm really worried that maybe she's supposed to be another name?

Does that sound crazy or is it just pregnancy hormones?

Why don't you see what she looks like when she's born?

What's the name?

I have been here too! I completely went off our choice of boys name about a week or so before and was SO worried in case we had a boy and we wouldn't have a name for him. AS it goes, we had a gorgeous girl who seemed to just fit the one combination of names we had picked. Hope this reassures you a bit!

My DH and me where exactly the same. We decided on the name Jessica for a girl from the minute we founf out we were expecting, then from 7 months or so i started looking at baby name books because i wasnt sure, I had a list of names ready for when she was born. And as soon as she was born we both looked at her and said 'Jessica'. I couldnt imagine calling her anything else now !!

dd had 2 first names and two second names until we saw her.

ds2 had quite a few until we saw him.

wait and see!

Thanks everyone! I'm hoping its just a general pregnancy freak out but will keep an open mind until we see her!

It could go either way, so have your back up names ready just in case!
I wavered on DS2's name just before he was born and actually when he was born I went with aniother name completely.
SO glad now. I cant stand the original name any more!
You will know when the baby is here what suits her!
