LOVE
Edward James
Reuben

Best out of those (would never do Roy due to a hideous person I know of by that very name!)

rolledhedgehog · 30/05/2009 13:28

That is a very diverse list. Really don't like Roy. Not liking Douglas much either. The others are all ok but the ones I like best are Reuben, Nathaniel, Adam and Leo.

I really like Leon and Reuben

James is a good middle name.

Matthew, Adam, Jonathan, Nathaniel and Alistair are fine.

Not keen on Douglas, Roy, Theodore, Edward, Stefan, Lawrence/Laurence (though Laurie is cute)

Hate Xander and Philip

The only ones that I love off your list are Edward and Theo
James is a good strong, no nonsense middle name too.

I really dislike Alistair, Roy and Douglas.
The rest, I have no opinion of.

I love Nathaniel, I desperately wanted to call my little boy Nathaniel (I love Nate for an abbreviation). Partner vetoed it.

Xander is a great name too, but I could never use as I am a Buffy fan

emmacharlotte · 01/06/2009 22:11

Instead of Xander, maybe Alexander and shorten it to Sander? Also love the name Edward

Report
janeite · 01/06/2009 22:14

Love Laurence/Laurie and Theo/Theodore.
Like Edward.
Quite like Nathaniel and Leo. Have no objections to Philip, Jonathin or James.

Don't like the others. Really, really don't like Roy, Douglas, Alistair and Stefan.

janeite · 01/06/2009 22:15

Sorry - didn't proof-read. Stefan was an ex-boyfriend so I am biased against that.

Nathaniel
Reuben

I think Nathaniel sounds lovely and it's unique, not overused, but still heard enough to not be weird. I knew a really cool skater type called Alistair and he wasn't posh or scottish. Although Edward is a classic I've alsways thought it was a bit mummy's-boy wimp? sorry. Only go for Emilio if you have Italian or spanish reasons to. I've never met a cool person called Roy..

Sorry to gatecrash slightly - my fave name for DS3 due in October is Alexander which we will shorten to Xander. Can't understand why no-one likes it but then I have never watched Buffy - can someone enlighten me??

I like Leo and Nathaniel. Willmouse might be because xander was quite dorky in buffy compared to the rest of characters. However his name is not shortned its just xander. My nephew was called this everyone loved his name.

Roy
Douglas
Emilio
Stefan
Lawrence/Laurence
Leo / Leon
Theo / Theodore - is this getting too common?
Philip
(Philip is back in now - after having been put off it before)
Adam Philip
Matthew Jonathan
Jonathan
Nathaniel (but not Nathan)
James (middle name only)
Alistair
Edward
Reuben/Ruben
Xander

I like Emilio (prefer Emil, though) Leo/Leon, Theo/Theodore, Nathaniel and Matthew.

James, Reuben and Adam - OK.

The rest - nah. Phillip and Roy are atrocious. Xander is ponce-a-rama. Alistair - only if you're Scottish. Edward & Jonathan - so dull.
