But secretly, I really, really like it

there is a child in dc's class with that name, he's a nice child, and it honestly suits him.

Sorry don't like it don't know why not my cup of tea.

Agree you would get idiots people saying "oh is your second name Davidson then?" and thinking they are really funny and the first person to think of it

And I am usually a Stoic, if-your-name's-not-in-the bible-or-the-FT-you-ain't-coming-in type too.

It does make me think of motorbikes too...

I would have said no, except know a Harley who is gorgeous and really cool. Most little boys would love to be like him. If the parents of the baby really like the name, they should go for it. People will accept it once the baby is here but I don't think they'll get a huge amount of support for that name before the birth.

My cat is called Harley.

I think it's a lovely name.

For a cat.

I know a girl called Harley - she is lovely and name suits her. Her dad is into bikes.

I also know a dog named Harley (the eat your toddler breed), whose owner is into bikes.

I do like the name tho.

It's better than Hurley or Burley, might get 'corrected' to Harvey but Harley's okay. Makes me think of overcharging doctors

Interesting, especially as so many of you know one. It's a relation who is trying a bit too hard (IMVH-unasked-for-and-unreasonable-O) to be different and have a name that no one else will have. Personally I hate it, but then I'm from the boring traditional names camp.

It's worse because her husband is really into motorbikes so my (and most people's, I'd guess) reaction is that they're calling him after the motorbike.
