Whether it's a boy or a girl

Now that's two of the most unusual names I've heard for a while. Whaddya think?

All I can think of when I hear Cameo is a man in the mid eighties wearing a leather codpiece.
All together now..... 'word up, its what they say'

Report
Boco · 31/03/2008 21:21

That's just what I thought! Word up!

Report
Sidge · 31/03/2008 21:24

Me too Solitaire, I remember the red codpiece!

I just smiled and said "oh, how unusual"

"Word up"

I actually like Cedar.
But i like nature names.
I can't help it.

To return to the original thread. What you have to consider is what a Cedar or a Cameo are going to face at school. No not pretty. Even worse a sulky teenage Cedar or Cameo

Mind you, didn't Cameo also have diamonds on his codpiece. Sorry, its a thought that suddenly grabbed me

Report
Boco · 31/03/2008 21:36

Did Cameo do that one about 'we don't have to take our clothes off, to have a good time, oh yeah' or was that someone else.

That was both a catchy tune, and an important message.

How is Cedar any different from Hazel or Fern?

Report
LynetteScavo · 31/03/2008 21:43

Is it me, or was that Cameo video extremly camp?

Actually, I don't think the name Cedar is too bad.

Solitaire · 31/03/2008 21:43

'Now pretty ladies around the world'....

Cameo - how terribly bling and street (adopts clipped Daily Mail reader voice)

Report
Sidge · 31/03/2008 21:47

Dragonbutter - I suppose it's not really is it? But when she first said it I misheard it as Cider. So when she said no, Cedar, I thought oh it's not too bad.

But I still can't get the image of the red codpiece out of my head with Cameo. Must be my age.

The difference between Cedar and Hazel or Fern is that if you are called Hazel or Fern, nobody's going to say "What was that?" "How do you spell that?" "Sorry, didn't catch that" "That's unusual" "Oh, I've never heard that before" "Cedar - like the tree?" or some variation on the theme every single time you introduce yourself for the rest of your life!
