Do you think I can do this for DD or is the singer just too famous?

It's just a name, lots of famous people have names that are still given to babies. If you like it go for it

I think it is lovely

Gorgeous. Very known but very uncommon.

Yep, it's fine imo - because it's not super popular some people will associate it with the musician, but I wouldn't say it's an unusual "one person" name (like Madonna or Beyonce).

Lovely and underused.

Agree @IamnotwhouthinkIam

It's not a name like Boris Elton or Elvis.
More of a name like Diana.

It's lively.

Go for it. Perfect name.

I don't think Adele is likely to still be that famous by the time a baby born today is an adult... Could be wrong, obviously!

It's a nice name. I also like Adeline.

It's an elegant, classy name.

Much prefer Adela - more elegant and sophisticated, but Adele is nice enough. Wouldn't worry c the singer.

Beautiful name and not common at all. Worked in maternity for 28 years never had an Adele yet.
I know an Adele and she is a lovely lady.

Adele is a nice name. There is also Adelia, which was my grandmother's middle name.

I instantly think of the singer, fag in hand, hair sprayed blonde hair wearing a jewel embellished velvet 1940s housewives dress that comes down to her knees.

mangothoughts · 27/02/2021 18:50

Not a big fan - I think of the singer or a middle aged woman.
Much prefer Adeline, Addison, Adalie, or Adalena.

KirstenBlest · 27/02/2021 18:56

Don't like it at all, or Ada, Adeline, Addison, Adalie, or Adalena. All ugly to me.

ILoveStickers · 27/02/2021 20:02

I really like it. People might ask if it's after the singer, so you'll have to decide if that bothers you. But I agree it's not a "one person name" like Madonna or Cher or something.

Catcheronthesly · 27/02/2021 22:26

I like it, but DH can’t stand Adele’s music so it was a massive no from him 😩. I did worry that people would think it was after the singer and that bothered me. Would it bother you if people thought that?

I knew a not-so-nice Adele but even she can’t ruin it for me, it’s very pretty and chic.

My name is Adele and I met afew around my age not massively overly used. Do like the Adeline.

Prefer Adeline, or Adelaide.
