Cassia is my favorite out of your list, it is beautiful. I think Isla is a little overused right now and I like all the others aside from Margot which i'm not too keen on x

Cecily is nice, but generally speaking anything but Isla.

Cassia stands out from your list. I think it’s beautiful.

Isla is v v popular. It's lost some of it's shine for me.

I really like Cleo and Cecily from your list.

Margot is also a bit of the moment. Cassia is a bit meh for me. Kasia is the polish version of Katie, I feel like it doesn't have a strong identity as a name.

Isla is very popular. I prefer Cecily from your list.

Cleo (on my short list!) and Cecily get my vote. Smile

Cleo is my favourite then Isla.
Not keen on the other 3.

Cecily by a mile.

Cecily, CeCe for short. Cleo is a car to my mind, spelling notwithstanding.

Isla is my favourite from your list but it is incredibly popular at the moment, if that sort of thing bothers you. I know about 5 under five at the moment! Margot is ok but also rather popular. I'm not a fan of the others I'm afraid.

Cleo or Cassia

Isla is very very well used at the moment, which is a shame as it is nice.

I'd look at similar but different names like -

Isolda
Isolde
Iona
Ione

Cecily

I love Isla, despite its apparent popularity (I've never met one) and also like Cleo & Cecily.

I'm not keen on Cassia & I really don't like Margot.

Every time it's mentioned, people always say that Isla is too popular. My dd is Isla, she's 9 and we've not met another one yet. We live in the north east.

Two Islas in my DS class prefer Margot.

Cecily is my favourite from your list. Margot is horrible. I read maggot when I see it.

There are three Isla’s (or ten percent of the girls) in dd1’s school year. I have a similar name from the 1980s. I wouldn't name a child that this reason!!!

Cecile and Margot are far and away the nicest on your list.

Report
Crystal87 · 15/10/2019 20:39

I really don't like Isla, sorry. Probably because half the girls in my daughter's year are called that. I like Cecily the most.

Report
ashtrayheart · 15/10/2019 20:45

I have a ten year old Isla, she's the only one I know of in her school. If you like the name I wouldn't worry about popularity.

I have a 22 yo Freya - that wasn't a popular name then but it is now! You can't plan for trends.

I like Isla and Cassia best, both lovely

I love the name Isla and if you look at the ONS data it’s actually been on a downward trend since 2014 , so for the past 5 years. It’s much rarer now than it was 2000-2013. There’s no Islas at either of my sons preschools or nursery groups. I don’t know any Isla under 4 years old.

Personally hate the sound of Cecily. Just a horrid sounding name and has too much of a harsh S sound. Plus sounds like silly

I love Margot - it’s gorgeous - right at the bottom of the top 100 so really isn’t common at the moment

Cleo is nice

Don’t like your other names . Cassia sounds C word to me (sorry please don’t attack me anyone- I hate that I think that but I do!)

diddlediddle · 15/10/2019 20:59

People saying they only know one 9/10 year old Isla - yes of course because it wasn't as popular 10+ years ago!

See this graph:

names.darkgreener.com/#isla

There are lots under 5.

There are also lots of similar names that have risen in popularity similarly in recent years, such as Ayla.

If you like it anyway then that's different!

To add: it also depends where you live. In my area Isla was/is the most popular girls name. May not be the case elsewhere
