One of my favourite names for baby girl due soon is Cora. Only issue is surname is Kane.
Is Cora Kane too much (I kind of know it is)
For content I also work in the medical field and colleagues will more that likely make the mind connect I do to local anaesthetics???

i love Cora but Cora Kane is a bit of a tongue twister! Do you like Coralie?

Isn’t Cora Caine a false teeth ointment? I remember a grandparent having it I think... But I don’t think most people would make that connection but you know a lot of medical folk so it sounds like they might. And even without that Cora Kane runs together and just doesn’t sound good in my opinion. So personally I wouldn’t. Sorry!

Cora is gorgeous but I wouldn't put it with Kane. Mind you it's better than Hora I suppose, Hora KaneGrin

Not ridiculous if you love the name. You could hyphenate Cora-Louise Kane or call her Cordelia or Coralie in full, nicknamed Cora
Coralie Kane or Cordelia Kane sound fine :)

Fellow medic - it’s a lovely name but it does make me Grin with your surname. What about Carrie? Or you could have coralie and shorten it to Cora perhaps? At the end of the day though, if you really love it then not many people will make the connection

Agree with posters above - Coralie (which I prefer) or Cordelia sound nice!

Is Cara better? Cora Kane sounds fine to me so I can't really tell.

What about Flora Kane?

Report
Joeybee · 28/06/2018 05:32

Don't call her Nova that's for sure!

Cora is a nice name, but I agree that it's a bit much with your surname. Maybe go with it as a middle name instead?

Stick with Cora, it’s beautiful. Change your surname!

Co Kane. No. Sorry. Can you double-barrel your surname?

Report
TheMythicalChicken · 28/06/2018 06:18

How about Kara? Kara Kane.

Report
AmyLou14 · 28/06/2018 08:04

@mythical can’t double barrel surname as it makes it worse, I have short C surname Grin That starts with the same sound the poor girl would sound like she had a stutter. Thread confirms it Cora is a no go, girls names are so hard.
