What do you think of the name Adriana? Any associations? Would it be easy to pronounce? What kind of a child do you imagine when you hear the name? Just any thoughts really, please :)

I like it and it doesn't conjure up a set image either, so I think it's good for a child to grow into. Be warned though - you will get people saying both Aye-driana and Ah-driana

Sopranos

It makes me think of the deluded rich girl on some mtv show. The hills maybe?

I'd pronounce it A-dree-ah-na

I prefer Adrienne

Sopranos for me too. Also sounds like the feminine version of Adrian to me.

Although pronounced and spelt completely differently, it makes me think of drains....

Although that is clearly me

My friend who is Spanish has a beautiful little girl called Adriana. I think it's a strong feminine name.

Add-ree-ah-na for me.

I like it.

Thank you for your comments! Crazily enough I've never seen the Sopranos and didn't even know there was an Adriana there (not that it would stop me from using the name, but I hope she was an alright character!)
Pronunciation for me would also be Add-ree-ah-na as I'm European and this is how it's pronounced where I'm from.
Would be great to hear a few more opinions, thanks again!

I haven’t seen the Sopranos so it has absolutely no associations for me. The Sopranos is quite old now so a lot of people won’t have seen it.

I think it’s a pretty name without being too flowery, and unusual without being too weird.

I prefer Adrienne.
Or Ariana.

It seems like a mix of the two of these to me.

My childhood best friend was Adrianna, nn Anna. It suited her. She had a simple, middle-namey middle name (think Jane, Rose, Lynn) for balance.

She was very attractive but alternative, she would not have suited a flowery name. It's a long name but not fussy and beautiful without being prissy imo.

I don't really like Adrian and it reminds me of that

Came on to say sopranos! It wasn't Adriana on MTV's The Hills - it was Audrina.

I've known two, both gorgeous and glamourous.

I know two as well. One European one American (who actually had a different name but changed it to Adraina when she became 18). It’s a lovely name.

It's a real name and it's pretty. I had a few classmates growing up with this name(not in the uk). You will have to tell most people how to pronounce it though.

I like it and it makes me think of the sea, the Adriatic sea.

How about Andrina? It's the name of one of Ariel's sisters in the little mermaid.
Or Alexandrinda - Queen Victoria's birth name?

Lovely name , it won't date . The chance are that she won't be in school with lots sharing her name.

Reminds me of the drug addict/psycho/pop star on 90210 but not many people will associate that so I think it's pretty otherwise
