Baby names

Boys name sorted. Girls name.... not

I'm 15 weeks and we find out next week what gender the baby is. We have a boys name chosen and sorted, which is Henry. For girls we can't decide! DD1 is a flower name so we don't want another flower as it's too 'twee'. We have a long foreign surname so need something succinct and pretty, ideally 2 syllables. So far I like;

Phoebe
Freya
Willow

Please suggest some others! I'm going mad!

Just tagging along for the ride - I'm a couple of weeks further on than you and still don't know the sex but hopefully will do very soon.

Henry is our boys name of choice.

Girls are much harder. We have:

Megan
Georgia
Amelia
Carys
Beth
Anna
Alice
Rebecca
Elizabeth

A varied mixture!

My best friend is a Freya and DP has vetoed Phoebe.

Freya was my number 2 choice for DD to go with our ridiculous 4 syllable long surname. Congratulations on your pregnancy Grin

Phoebe is really nice!

We're having another girl and I've found it hard to find something that feels right. Baby has a name now though, and hopefully she suits it when she's here.

If you're avoiding another flower name I wouldn't go with Willow as it's a similar theme (nature etc), I do love it though. I also like Phoebe :)

I like Phoebe out of your list. I'm not keen on Willow at all - it's a plant name, so it would bes twee to have two DC with plant names. Freya is OK.

Unlike some on here I found girls' names much easier than boys' ones - I was stumped when I discovered that DC2 would be a boy! I'll offer the options that were on my shortlist for DD:

Juliet
Suki
Agnes
Angelica
Star
Rowan
Robyn
Caoimhe ('keeva')

I have an Estonian friend whose daughter's name is Suvi (which means 'summer' in Estonian and Finnish) - apparently that's relatively common in some places but I hadn't heard it before and thought it was very pretty.

I know you said no to another flower name but Daphne would work with your criteria.
I had Freya on my list but we had a boy, other names we had were Meriel, Freda, Alethia.
