Baby names

Stuck for boy names, help!

Third baby, have two already vaguely 'out there' but hopefully not totally silly named children.

Middle name will either be something ridiculous and hippy like Moon or Sage or something solid like William (family name) depending on how unusual first name is (so they can always use middle name if they hate it when they're older).

Anyway, thoughts please on... (please be relatively gentle as I've had a long day! Grin) And any ideas based on my list gratefully received!

Vincent
Jasper
Cassius
Quentin
Lucien
Egon
Julian
Atlas
Jude
Franklin
Aldous
Clarence (may be a bit wet sounding?)
Castor
Roman
Rowan
Remus (Remy)
Holden
Odin

PanannyPanoo · 17/09/2017 20:22

I love your list.
I met a little Zebedee at a party today which I thought was a fantastic name
can shorten it to Zeb, which sounds like Seb so very normal if he choses.
Casper.
may suit your taste too.

Dustbunny1900 · 17/09/2017 20:42

Roman! That's what I went with for my youngest Grin
Also love Cassius and Lucius/Lucian and Julian/Julius, Romulus, drusus (dru for short!), Claudius, august, and Odin.
Vincent is cute (and I love Vincent price )

Jasper or Lucien.

MammieBear · 18/09/2017 08:39

Hello, you have a very good list in my opinion but still all relatively classic names so not too out there. Let's have a look:
Vincent - lovely name got good history to boot and some good shortenings.
Jasper - this is actually used in British royalty, lovely sound a little limited with Nn's.
Cassius - means Vain and for that reason not as keen on it but besides the meaning it has a lovely sound to it.
Quentin - I like Tarantino so to me it's a great name but I think it means 5?
Lucien - means light, it's a lovely name.
Egon - not so keen on this one, unusual sound to it this one does stand out
Julian - lovely name prefer julius though
Atlas - really like the mythology that goes with this name.
Jude
Franklin - presidential powerful sound to it. Aldous - it reminds me of Albus Dumbedore.
Clarence (may be a bit wet sounding?) it says "it's a wonderful life of me" not many shortenings but it is a nice name
Castor - oil
Roman - an attractive name
Rowan - preferably the above over this one
Remus (Remy) very nice
Holden - it's ok
Odin - think you have more interesting names above.

Without knowing sibling names it's hard to see what "fits" the best.
You might like:
Zebedee
Rafferty
Lief
Moses
Roscoe
Arlo
Finnian

Peppapiggs · 18/09/2017 10:05

I like most of your suggestions, op.

My favourites are Quentin (I'm biased though Smile), Roman and Vincent. All strong underused classics imo.

I'm less keen on Castor (oil), Odin (don't like the sound), Clarence or Jasper.

MsJuniper · 18/09/2017 11:19

I like your list, it has lots of names we considered. Aldous may be a bit much if previous DC is Orson. I also like Lawrence and Clement which I think are in the same vein.
