What do you think of Laurena? Is it too unusual? Any similar alternatives?

Pronounced lorraina or lauren-a? Like the sound of lorraina but wouldn't spell it laurena.

Hmmm. Not keen, sorry. Just looks a bit cobbled-together-made-up. Lauren and Laura are ok though.

It looks made up to me too. I don't like it.

What about Laurana?

Report
Rainsbow · 16/05/2017 21:12

Lorenna

I know it was spelt differently, but my instant reaction is "Bobbitt"

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 16/05/2017 21:15

I like Laura, or Rena.

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 16/05/2017 21:18

I thought Bobbitt too.

I've gone off it now! Grin

Wasn't it Loretta Bobett?

How about Laurel instead?

It sounds like a contraceptive pill to me OP, sorry!

My dyslexic brain could not cope trying to spell that one!

Lowenna or Lorna?

Report
SuperBeagle · 16/05/2017 22:03

Pronounced lore-ee-nah or Lauren-ah?

Lorena is a legitimate name for the former pronunciation.

Looks like a typo

Report
HildaOg · 16/05/2017 22:05

It sounds made up. How about Lorna? Beautiful name.

Report
floatingfrog · 16/05/2017 22:06

Lauren would be much better. Grin

Bambambini · 16/05/2017 22:08

Like lauren a lot - laurena not at all. Any sister would have to be called Jolene.

It was Lorena Bobbitt. She who cut off her husband's willy.

The story probably does date those of us who are mentioning it, but it was quite big news at the time.

I don't think it is a bad name, but the Bobbitt story is unfortunately what I would think of if I heard it.

Bambambini · 16/05/2017 22:10

Lauren, Lonnie, Laurie or Lorel

Report
Sophronia · 17/05/2017 00:39

I like it spelled Lorena.

I'm mostly seeing / hearing Lorna

I know a very chic Laurena! She's French though so that affects how it's pronounced.

CricketRuntAndRashers · 17/05/2017 13:18

I know a lovely woman named Lorena (she's Italian) and another woman named Lauretta.

I really like Lorena but I've never seen it spelled Laurena (if it's even the same name).
