Anna or Alice or?

Expecting our first and think we have it narrowed down to two. Anna or Alice?

If Alice, it would be Hannah for a middle name as a family connection. If Anna, middle name could be anything, favour Charlotte.

Have a short one syllable surname.

Wavering a little and wondering if there's another name we have missed? Quite like Eleanor but sounds like there are a lot of Ellie-type nicknames at the moment. Really like Imogen, but not its nicknames.

Anna Charlotte is beautiful.

I don't like Alice anywhere near as much.

I have an Alice Isobel. She's quirky and hilarious and boisterous. We do call her "Al" a lot though, which I swore I wouldn't, but her big sister started it and it stuck and suits her.

Annalise would be an alternative?

(But Anna Charlotte's very pretty, OP Smile).

I'd pick Anna Charlotte.

It's short, neat, elegant, classy, classic and international. Great name.

I like Alice Hannah too, but not as much as Anna Charlotte.

You've chosen beautiful names!

DS has cousin Imogen nn Ginny. You might already have considered but I'd never heard that shortening before and love it!

Wow, Anna is much preferred.

Ginny is a great nn for Imogen though.

I guess we'll see if she looks like an Anna when she arrives.

I have an Anna - a very funny 6 year old one Grin. It's a lovely name, funny enough she is the youngest of three sisters and Anna never popped up as a name for either of her older sisters but as soon as I thought of it for her that was that.

I wanted Anna for my DD but DH said it was incredibly dull.

Argh, frog, I do tend to prefer more classic names but I worry it strays into boring. I hope once its attached to a little person that won't be a worry.
