Thinking of calling our daughter Rosanna or maybe Matilda. I love the name Rosanna, but tend to get a negative response when I discuss it with friends! Any thoughts? Thanks!

Both lovely. Maybe think which nn each would give?

Rosanna. It's gorgeous and not as popular as Matilda seems to be.

I like both names but would choose Rosanna as it's a bit more unusual

Rosanna - ignore the friends!

Dunno why your friends are giving that response to a really nice name but either of them are nice anyway

I much prefer Rosanna, I wish I had thought of it for dd. It is beautiful. I am not at all keen on Matilda.

I like Rosanna. Might be shortened to Rosie? With Rosanna, there's a celeb-type where I'm from, who everybody would think of unfortunately...

Rosanna is a great name. One of my closest friends is called that.

Personally prefer Rosa or Roseanne over Rosanna which seems a bit frilly. But anything over Matilda, really dislike it.

Thank you for responses so far, nicknames would be Rosie for Rosanna and Tilly for Matilda.

Both beautiful names although I'll lean towards Matilda as I know a lovely one Grin

Matilda.
But I am definitely in the minority the only Rose name I like is Rose.
I think the rest are really frilly and icky

I like both but there's something that stopped me from using Matilda in the past - not sure what so not very helpful!

I really like Rose/Rosa & Anna & Rosanna is a very pretty name so I would go with that!

I prefer Matilda by a million miles.

Rosanna is outdated. It makes me think of someone over the age of 50. But I like both Rose and Anna on their own.
