I'm in the same area and know one Felix but don't know any children by the other names. I have a two year old so haven't reached school age yet.

I'm not far from you and I know at least one of each of those, and some I know several!

And I don't have a lot of babies/children in my acquaintance compared to many MNers so that is a v high proportion in a small sample!

I know a Penelope (Canadian) and a Felix (English). There was a kid the sane age as DS called Albert at baby class and I only know a grown up Emma.

They are fairly common names, if you want them to be a bit more unique you till have to play about with the spelling. apostrophes would work too.

E'mma
W'ren
Pheelix

Etc

grumpyfish52 · 21/04/2017 12:55

Goodness, please don't do what viques has suggested!

I know an Albert and an Emma. But i don't think any would be described as really common (although not super unusual either)

No!!! Dont add apostrophes to the names

All fairly common, apart from Wren. I've never met a Wren!

I have never met a Wren, but I know 2 Penelopes and more than 5 boys called Felix and Albert - they seem to be rising rapidly in popularity around London. I only know 1 Emma, but a few of my friends have used it as a middle name.

Instead of Wren you could try a different bird:

Robin
Jay
Magpie
Chaffinch
Linnet
Curlew
Dove
Martin
Peregrine
Serin
Wigeon

Sounds like they are all around but not crazy popular?

We do also love Erin and Robin for a girl. But Penelope is probably Our top choice.

Felix and Albert are only two boys names we both like, with Felix the top choice.

We're drowning in Felixes here in our bit of SW London. Every other white boy is called Felix, Oscar, Sam, Leo, Harry or Ethan.
