We have a difficult surname (4 syllables, italian), so finding a name to go with it is proving a bit tricky! Names like amy/ellie/sophie are out due to the "ee" sound at the end of the name clashing with the surname.

So far we have;

Harriet
Imogen
Isabel/Isabella
Emma
Abigail

Any ideas, and any middle names to go with them? We quite like Abigail Emma or Harriet Emma, but getting stuck on the same few names!

Some good names on those lists! So many have been used by close friends lately, so unlikely to use Alice, Elise, Eva, Olivia, Sophia, Florence. Good ideas for some of these as middle names though.

I think I'd personally avoid any long names such as Harriet which could become Hattie or Abigail which could become Abbie. If you don't want an EE ending sound.
MN suggestions for your names.
Harriet Isobella
Imogen Faith
Isabella Mary
Emma Rose
Abigail Clara.
Other suggestions.

Totally get your point babyspider, we have thought of that. DH wants to shorten Harriet to "Harry" which I have pointed out to him also ends in the "ee" sound, but saying that I do like Harriet Matilda.

Harriet Matilda/Emma
Catherine Alice
Isabel Alice/Emma
Eleanor Kate
Abigail Emma

Need to play around a bit more with mixtures of these names...
