I think people will probably take a second check if they genuinely thought her name was Violent, so they would get it right anyway

Think they are both nice. Violet is very pretty, but also works should she be a CEO of a FTSE100 company/go off and rule the world when middle aged. 'Tis a pretty but not cutesy name!

Vi and Lettie are both quick nice nicknames that will "age" well with her growing up (not too baby-ish that she's mortified to be called it when a teen you'll just have to try harder to embarrass your DD ). Can't think of any other obvious nicknames that might annoy you.

Oh but don't think Megan flows well, so unless it's a name with meaning, I'd look for another name. If it is a name with meaning, keep it and just remember she'll hardly ever say her full name!

I'm not to fussed on Violet. I love Megan its very pretty and girly. Yet equally strong and sophisticated.

Violet is gorgeous and a classic, I'm always surprised it's quite rare. And Vi is a lovely shortening.

I admit I struggle with Megan though. Tb fair I think I'd struggle with any second name as I immediately think Pink Emily and Orange Mabel. I may need more gin.

Viola is an instrument and completely different name to Violet.

Scarlet Juliet and Margaret are also utterly plain and bit tacky, as is Megan, sorry- but as a Violet name lover (which I assume the OP is) these are the last names she'd then choose instead.
