What do you think of this? I originally thought it might be a bit too religious sounding for us (we're not), but names like Noah and Reuben are quite popular now. I quite like Sol as a nn.

I really like it and pitched it to DH for DC1 (who turned out to be a girl).

It's too biblical for me even though I like Noah and Reuben.

Love it.

DS has 3 Biblical names, although we are not at all religious. Old Testament names are awesome - the plethora of Isaacs, Noahs, Rubens and Zachs out there is testament to that (no pun intended). I also know a Seth, a Saul and a couple of Amoses.

A little bit too ponsey for me.

I have one Smile he is universally called sol. Everyone always tells me they love his name. He went through a period of wanting to be called bob as there aren't many other Solomons around but I stand by my decision. It's a great name

Also not religious.

Fits in well with the vogue for less popular biblical names. Though I always think 'solemn' and don't like 'solly' shortening.

Sure there is a Solomon in the Bible?

My friend's DS is a Solomon and at first I was unsure but now really like it.

We know a 15 year old Sol and of course the footballer Sol Campbell is also a Sol.

Very religious. But why not...? It's actually rather nice. I would have never thought of it... But yes, I can see it. It's lovely!

A post a few up was questioning it chippie. Unless I was being thick, which is likely.

Fab! My son has a biblical name too and we are not particularly religious. It's a great name.

I prefer Sol or Saul but do like Solomon though it does seem more religious to me for some reason than the likes of Noah, Reuben or Adam.

Oops, true.

And here I was thinking of my evolution hating and scary teacher droning on andon... And praying for the people in this wolrd making the important decisions ensuring our wellbeing and safety etc. Yup, small flashback. Probably why I personally couldn't stand giving a child of mine an obviously religious name... (Oops. I'm rambling)

It's nice, but Sol is great!
