Brooke and Madison?

I quite like the names Brooke and Madison (unintentionally named after two places in New York - Madison Square Garden and Brooklyn lol!). My 2 year old DS is called George. I'm having twins and quite like these names - my DH doesn't seem to care either way. What do you think?

I do like them but I'm not sure they go with George. Very different styles.

I think that you should speak to your DH because he might not seem to care however he might have some ideas which might benefit you, Brooklyn is quite an outgoing name

Yeah I agree that the styles are different and I think they clash a bit for me. I think Madison goes OK with George at a push, but not Brooke.

What about Madeline or Madeleine instead of Madison? I'm struggling to think of a traditional name that could be a substitute for Brooke.

Having said that, children always seem to just grow into their names. There are a couple of children in our family who's names caused a few raised eyebrows when they were announced, but they really couldn't be anything else now. In a few years you will be so used to using all three names together - as will your families - that they will just fit together for you anyway.

There's a little girl in one of our playgroups called Madeline, I think it's lovely but yes I can see that people might make that connection.

Theyre very American sounding and George to me is quite British so maybe that's why they don't quite go. You could have madlen which is a slightly different pronunciation of Madeline but still would be Maddy as a nn (similar to Madison)
Other suggestions Paige, Morgan, Lincoln

Hi Stacey, I would go with Brooke and Madison, they go well together.
George is a timeless name, fits in with most names. People will get used to it, as will you. Congratulations, twin daughters, how lovely ! 💐

Brooke and Madison are beautiful names. They fit a baby and they will both be lovely names to have in adult life.

I like Madison.

I'm not a fan of Brooke as it seems quite outdated now (was very popular in the 90s).

But both are fine with George.

I don't think either name sounds too odd with George! They definitely don't slot into the same group, but it doesn't sound daft (e.g. Esmeralda and Ian).

Just to respond to your earlier q though - still plenty of little Madeleines about! I think it's only just outside the top 100 - I know of LOADS under 10.

If I were to have another girl names id possibly pick : Paige, Imogen, Cassidy, Demi, Hannah, Rosie.

Maddison goes well too!
