I have a 19 year old Madeleine. It's been a great name for her. Maddie most of the time. Moo often! Madz as a young teen. It's flexble

Madeleine. There are way too many spellings of Maia/Maya/Mya/Mia for life to be straightforward.

Plus Madeleine is nicer Wink

Maia, as I don't like Maddie

Madeleine Alice.

Maia is fine, but very popular at the moment and liable to being misspelt and mispronounced more often than Madeleine.

Maia

Unless you don't shorten Madeleine Maddie sounds less me a mad person and just not feminine imo. But Madeleine esp in French sounds pretty

I don't really like Maia because of the pronunciation issue, and it doesn't roll off the tongue somehow. I like Madeleine- lots of options for pet names if you want them.

I have a Maia. It will be mispronounced at times but we adore it and it doesn't bother me at all. Maia Eloise is beautiful.

Ooh thanks for all the responses - can't believe how difficult it is to name a baby! Madeleine was my original choice, and love Maddie but think Maia is really pretty....

DD is Lucy - does one of them 'go' better with that?

Maia :) or Maya.

Madeleine has really sad connotations for me personally.

And I think Maia goes better with Lucy.

Madeleine is my fave! We are considering it for our baby girl due next week 😊

Also, love the name Lucy!

Just seen your other post @firsttimemama2017 - we have the same taste in names. Lucy's middle name is Isabella :)

Maia Eloise is lovely, and different.
I'm not very fond of Madeleine.

I think Madeleine is lovely and used to know one nn Lena

I agree with the other posters that there are so many different ways to spell and pronounce Maia. Also Maia Eloise contains an awful lot of vowels!

I prefer Maia Eloise.

Alice is OK, but I'm not keen on Maddie, which would be unavoidable for a Madeleine I think.
