See - this is a name I'd avoid, as, as has already been demonstrated, you are always going to get it spelled 'wrongly' by half the population, whichever you decide.

Peace - we just decided that it looked nicer written, and also at a real push if he wanted to he could potentially shorten it to Dan when he gets older if nothing else. And I understand it's more traditional.

I have a 9 week old Aidan. It's a family name for us and we love it. Aidan vote for me... It's the original Irish spelling and the saints name. Not really sure what's the story with the other spelling. And like the pp said I like the Dan in there. It's stronger looking and can be a nn. Just to warn you lots of people will write it Aiden but I just say..oh, No, it's the traditional spelling with an a or, just think Aidan Turner from Poledark...seems to do the trick!

I did try to find out which was the traditional spelling, but lots of sources seem to think there's no difference. I think I will go with Aidan. Thank you all!

All the Irish ones I know are Aidan. Aiden is wrong.
