What nn for Susanna have people heard?

Ellieboolou27 Sun 16-Oct-16 19:26:45

I know 3 including my mum and it's always sue (which they all hate)

I wouldn't shorten it, it's beautiful, and the shortened versions of it aren't as nice.

Anyway, nicknames don't always arise like you expect. My kids are called stuff like BearFace, Fish and Chips, and all manner of nonsense unrelated to their actual names. grin

I know one and she's Susie.

MotherOfGlob Sun 16-Oct-16 19:37:05

It'd be 'Suze' round here.

I really loathe Sue, it's putting me off risking this name to be honest

Swearwolf Sun 16-Oct-16 20:00:17

I get Suz or Suzy, nobody calls me Sue! I'd hate that, it's very much a name for my mum's generation (I'm early 30s).

I get Susie or Suz but never Sue. Most people don't shorten it for me though. Also early 30s.

The ones I know are called Susie, Suzy, Anna and Suki.

I know a Suzanne and she is called Suzanne. No nicknames.
If anyone has said Suze or Sue it looks as if she has nipped that in the bud. So I would say it depends on the person and if they are happy to have the name shortened.

My grandma was called Suzannah and was known as Tetle all her life. Her nieces and nephews called her Aunt Tetle, her sisters called her Tetle. No idea why - wish I'd thought to ask.

Ellieboolou27 Sun 16-Oct-16 20:09:44

yep they all hate sue too, suzie is ok as a nn but think it sounds a bit dizzy and airy (if that makes sense, sorry to the suzie's)

My mum who's Suzanne always states she hates the nn sue but still everyone still calls her it!

bruffin Sun 16-Oct-16 20:12:03

Dds friend is known as Zanna

Herhighness Sun 16-Oct-16 20:12:55

I am a Suzanne and for 35 years my late father in law called me Susan.
Everyone else in my family calls me Suzanne.

MaximumVolume Sun 16-Oct-16 20:43:53

Hello! I'm a Susanna. I get Susie, Suze & Zanna from close family & husband. I love it. I'd never met another until first day of uni & the was one in the room next door. We're still besties! grin

MaximumVolume Sun 16-Oct-16 20:45:44

Sorry, bracketing fail. Zanna is fam & DH. The other two are my generally known names. I do use Susanna in full quite a bit, too.

Pooka Sun 16-Oct-16 20:54:54

Though sometimes Sooze

calilark Sun 16-Oct-16 20:55:17

My school BF was Susannah, and her nn was Nan

Pooka Sun 16-Oct-16 20:55:49

Never been called sue.

Pluto30 Sun 16-Oct-16 21:00:09

The two I know are both Susie.
