I wouldn't shorten it, it's beautiful, and the shortened versions of it aren't as nice.

Anyway, nicknames don't always arise like you expect. My kids are called stuff like BearFace, Fish and Chips, and all manner of nonsense unrelated to their actual names. Grin

It'd be 'Suze' round here.

I really loathe Sue, it's putting me off risking this name to be honest

I get Suz or Suzy, nobody calls me Sue! I'd hate that, it's very much a name for my mum's generation (I'm early 30s).

I get Susie or Suz but never Sue. Most people don't shorten it for me though. Also early 30s.

I know a Suzanne and she is called Suzanne. No nicknames.
If anyone has said Suze or Sue it looks as if she has nipped that in the bud. So I would say it depends on the person and if they are happy to have the name shortened.

My grandma was called Suzannah and was known as Tetle all her life. Her nieces and nephews called her Aunt Tetle, her sisters called her Tetle. No idea why - wish I'd thought to ask.

yep they all hate sue too, suzie is ok as a nn but think it sounds a bit dizzy and airy (if that makes sense, sorry to the suzie's)

My mum who's Suzanne always states she hates the nn sue but still everyone still calls her it!

Hello! I'm a Susanna. I get Susie, Suze & Zanna from close family & husband. I love it. I'd never met another until first day of uni & the was one in the room next door. We're still besties! Grin

Sorry, bracketing fail. Zanna is fam & DH. The other two are my generally known names. I do use Susanna in full quite a bit, too.
