DP and I really love all of these names and are struggling. We think it may come down to waiting until she is born and seeing what "fits" but what are your thoughts?

Kate (I actually prefer Cate) If we don't pick this it will almost definitely be used as middle name for any of the others.
Anna
Emilia
Emma
Bryony/Briony (sp?)
Ellen

Thanks :)

I'd choose Emma, Anna or Emilia.

DS2 would have been Emilia if he was a she - such a pretty name!

Emilia

thanks :)
I love Emilia but DP and I both worried it will be mistaken for Amelia all the time. It sounds silly as they're just a letter and a tiny sound-difference apart but I adore Emilia but am very "meh" about Amelia.

I'm not keen on Bryony or Emma for no particular reasons

I love your others though. I love Anna but couldn't have and think Kate/Cate is so pretty in a simple, elegant way. Emilia is very pretty and I like Emilia Fox but Amelia is very very common here and I think it's only different on paper. I'm not as keen on Ellen but still like it

Bryony Cate is gorgeous.

It's mad how one letter can make all the difference!

I love Bryony and emma from your list. Emilia and Anna pretty but not quite as much.

Cate/Kate I know loads of people love it but I just don't get it.

Anna. Then Bryony.

I'm not keen on Emilia - I think you are right that it will constantly be confused with Amelia, of which there are hundreds.
But I love the rest of your list and would struggle to put in order of fave, but would perhaps say Briony, Emma, Elen (I prefer one l), Anna with Kate as middle name.

Kate or Cate as a first name. So underused but really lovely.

Any of the first four are lovely.

Don't worry about Emilia. My name is often confused for another - it's not that big a deal. I just correct people if they make a mistake, usually only takes one correction.

I'm over 40 and I've only had 3 people make a big deal out of it over the whole course of my life. Two teachers and one boss. Sorted without too much difficulty.

would avoid emilia - agree it's v pretty but there are soo many amelias (number one name?) that it'll get irritating for her and you.

Not keen on Bryony but there's nothing wrong with it. The others are lovely. I'd say it depends which flows better with the surname. And, of course, what she looks like when she appears. My youngest was nameless for nearly three weeks as neither of the the chosen names suited him.

Kate.

Absolutely lovely name.

i spelled Kate ( my long name stares with a C) with a C for quite a long time- but got bored with correcting people so swapped back.
