Edmund.

I really like it as it reminds me of one of my favourite characters but dp and his family immediately think of someone else, who I can't stand. I'm hoping it's just them who will associate it in that way though.

I was really hoping it wouldn't be Blackadder! The programme irritates the life out of me.

I love the character of Edmund in the CS Lewis books and the films.

Blackadder here as well.

Not sure my cultural references will apply to children born now though.

My first thought was Narnia. Then Blackadder! It's a lovely name though.

My first thought was Narnia despite being a huge Blackadder fan.

In fact until I read other posts I couldn't even think of another Edmund apart from Narnia! Blush

Narnia. And then King Lear.

I wouldn't think Blackadder, although I love the programme. I'm not on first name terms with that character. Grin

It is a lovely name but it makes me think of, erm, Noel Edmonds. Blush

Narnia (only realised it was Blackadder when I read the other replies) but it doesnt matter because in a few short weeks the first person anyone in your family thinks of will be your DS.

My friend's 20-something son. He is a good sort.

Generic Tudor younger brothers who never made history then Narnia.

Also, Blackadder is losing relevance as it ages. As your son gets older he would become 'the' Edmund.

Blackadder. But it's getting older so this generation won't really be as aware of it

I didn't think of Blackadder btw. I've watched bits of it but I didn't know that was his first name.
