Edmund.

I really like it as it reminds me of one of my favourite characters but dp and his family immediately think of someone else, who I can't stand. I'm hoping it's just them who will associate it in that way though.

Black adder

Narnia

Yep Blackadder

IdaShaggim Thu 14-Apr-16 11:17:48

Narnia.

I was really hoping it wouldn't be Blackadder! The programme irritates the life out of me.

I love the character of Edmund in the CS Lewis books and the films.

ABitAsleep Thu 14-Apr-16 11:18:25

Narnia!

tilder Thu 14-Apr-16 11:21:56

Blackadder here as well.

Not sure my cultural references will apply to children born now though.

Joinourclub Thu 14-Apr-16 11:23:25

Old man.

ChipsandGuac Thu 14-Apr-16 11:25:21

My first thought was Narnia. Then Blackadder! It's a lovely name though.

PresidentCJCregg Thu 14-Apr-16 11:28:17

Old men. Generally.

AnotherUsernameBitesTheDust Thu 14-Apr-16 11:28:25

My first thought was Narnia despite being a huge Blackadder fan.

In fact until I read other posts I couldn't even think of another Edmund apart from Narnia! blush

katiegg Thu 14-Apr-16 11:29:07

Narnia

LauraChant Thu 14-Apr-16 11:30:16

Narnia. And then King Lear.

I wouldn't think Blackadder, although I love the programme. I'm not on first name terms with that character. grin

MackerelOfFact Thu 14-Apr-16 11:35:20

It is a lovely name but it makes me think of, erm, Noel Edmonds. blush

peasweet05 Thu 14-Apr-16 11:36:24

Narnia

Edmund Bertram from Mansfield Park by Jane Austen

StDogolphin Thu 14-Apr-16 11:40:35

Narnia (only realised it was Blackadder when I read the other replies) but it doesnt matter because in a few short weeks the first person anyone in your family thinks of will be your DS.

GerundTheBehemoth Thu 14-Apr-16 11:40:43

My friend's 20-something son. He is a good sort.

SecretlyChartreuse Thu 14-Apr-16 11:42:02

Generic Tudor younger brothers who never made history then Narnia.

StDogolphin Thu 14-Apr-16 11:42:07

Also, Blackadder is losing relevance as it ages. As your son gets older he would become 'the' Edmund.

AStreetcarNamedBob Thu 14-Apr-16 11:49:24

Blackadder. But it's getting older so this generation won't really be as aware of it

ILikeUranus Thu 14-Apr-16 12:00:22

My first boyfriend.

KanyeWesticle Thu 14-Apr-16 12:00:23

Narnia. Lovely.

AnotherEmma Thu 14-Apr-16 12:08:57

I didn't think of Blackadder btw. I've watched bits of it but I didn't know that was his first name.
