I adore this name, it's one I really liked when pregnant.

I like nature names.

I love it but I loved river Phoenix still not over it

Dd1 is named after him in a round about way

The only river I know is a girl though.

I like it, but it does depend on the surname.

I do like it a lot as it is nature themed. Second name is Turner

Very silly. I would think River's parents were massive hippies or misguided River Phoenix fans.

I like it but don't think it's right with Turner sorry.

I've known 2, one girl. one boy
the girls surname was an actual river (think river Thames, but not Thames iycwim)
The boy had the surname that sounded like a day out.
so really I'm not keen!

I don't think it goes with your surname sorry, the repetition of the -er ending doesn't sound right.

It's a lovely name. I've met one other River recently - a little boy whose Dad commented that his name was so apt because he never stopped moving :)

To Whovians (and there are a lot of them) it's River Song, so would be odd on a boy.

I know 2 baby boys called River.

Not my cup of tea personally, which is weird as I'm usually all for variety and 'different' names. I don't know, I think it sounds more like a girls name (again I usually think that's a stupid statement) and a bit too try-hard.

I think it's the new Arlo, lots of parents simultaneously thinking it will be v unusual, so there turns out to be a lot of them.

Not keen on it with your surname, although intrinsically it's a nice sound.

Trying to think of more boys' nature names and it does seem like a lot of them are thought of as girls' names.

Hawk?

I don't like it on its own but doesn't go with your surname either imo, sorry.

I like it, but it doesn't go with your surname.

What about a particular river? I know two girls named Tamar.
