Baby names

Teasing potential?

Beatrix Annabelle

Or

Beatrix Annabel

We're considering these names for our baby girl but after looking at it from all angles with my crazy sleep deprived brain I'm worried that the names or nickname combinations with Bee (Beatrix) and Annabel might be pronounced in a certain way which could have teasing potential. Does anyone else see it? OH says I'm totally overthinking things.

Opinions please?

Thank you!

Is it bee-atch?

It's a stretch if that's the worry.

Bean-a-bel?

I think they are gorgeous names, and really, when is a middle name used or discussed? I can't see a problem with the combination (and am being a bit thick - what would people tease her about?)

You are massively over thinking Smile

I prefer Annabel - more sophisticated and less flowery than Annabelle imho.

Bee an' a bell?

I think Beatrix Annabel is fine.

I'm lost too. They seem like lovely names.

Haha this is so funny! Whatever the teasing potential was you're definitely over thinking it OPSmile. I can't for the life of me put together any word or name with those names! They are lovely, go for it.

Thanks everyone! OK, I'm clearly overthinking it!

My worry is that it could sound like 'Beer tricks an' a bell' or 'Bee an' a bell'. Both which sound like a circus act to me...

Too far fetched?

Whatever name you choose children will always find a way of creating nicknames and teasing

Kids at school probably won't even know her middle name! Definitely overthinking it. Both are lovely names.

Wow...!

Um, it's unlikely that those will even occur to other children.

But, you know, it almost seems like you're trying to bullet proof your child against absolutely ANY teasing at all, and that's just not possible, unfortunately.

No matter what name/name combo you come up, some kid, somewhere will find teasing potential in it at some point, that you could never in a millions years have foreseen.

When do children even know each others' middle names, let alone use them?

TheDowagerCuntess · 05/03/2016 09:20

DS is 7 and will spend entire lunch hours playing with kids and not even know their first name.

We had a Beatrix at school and her nickname was bee the flea in primary school and then she evolved into 'bumble' as we got older which was fairly harmless although I did her people just call her 'bum' for short which was a bit concerning!!

The "an' a" sounds wouldn't be emphasised in a phrase, whereas the An of Annabel would be. So I don't think it's a problem.

I prefer the Annabel spelling (don't see any point of the extra letters).

it is very very rare people call you by your first and middle names.
Beatrix is lovely as is Anabelle (no matter how you spell it)
