I'm 33 weeks pregnant with a little sister for Edward James (Ted). We had decided on Eliza Rose but I'm now worrying that Elza sounds too harsh.
Here's the rest of our short list...
Evelyn
Eleanor
Imogen
Sadie
Iris
Rose
Clara
Ivy
Rosalind
Louisa
Anna
Romily
Elodie
Jemima
Cora
Eliza
Ida
Isla.
I am open to alternatives. Thank you very much for your help.

Eliza Rose is lovely, I don;t find Eliza harsh at all. How about going with Elizabeth nn Eliza for a bit more flexibility?

I know someone with a Rose (perfect name imo) who will have a Ted if the next one is a boy. So Rose Grin

I do really like Eliza but im hearing that name everywhere at the moment and also I find it a little weird when siblings have the same initial

What about Juliet?

Eliza is one of the unharshest names out there. It's very pretty sophisticated and elegant. About your other names.
Like list.
Rose
Clara
Ivy
Louisa
Anna
Cora
Romily
Isla.
Imogen

Dislike list.
Evelyn
Eleanor
Rosaline although i do like Rosa
Elodie
Ida.
Jemima

I like it, I wouldn't put rose and ivy together only because they're plant/flower names!

Wow I LOVE your list!

Evelyn - would inevitably be shortened to Evie and lots of Evies everywhere
Eleanor- love this but Ellie very likely and loads of Ellies everywhere!
Imogen - lovely
Sadie - I like it
Iris - love this
Rose - love this
Clara - LOVE this, upset I will never be able to use it as doesn't go with sn!
Ivy - bit boring/old lady IMO
Rosalind -LOVE this!
Louisa - love it
Anna - love it
Romily - love it but would spell with 2 ls
Elodie - gorgeous but would worry about it being shortened to Ellie
Jemima- ok
Cora- gorgeous
Eliza- gorgeous and I don't think too harsh
Ida - ok
Isla- boring - I know about 5 small Islas

My favourites are Rosalind, Elodie, Clara, Cora, Eliza, Louisa, Anna, Romilly, Iris and Rose. So many!

Chucking a few others in the mix. Adelaide, Madeleine, Eloise, Nina, Saskia, Celia, Helena, Lydia?

I think probably on balance Rosalind is my favourite!

I think Eliza rose is perfect.
I would also say you don't need to worry yet why don't you wait to see how you feel when she's born.

Louisa by a mile. How about Meredith, Roseanne, Alicia, Faye.
Lots of Eliza's about at the minute.

Thank you very much for all of the helpful advice and new name suggestions.
One more to throw in the mix...Maisie as I had an old auntie with this name.
Sorry it's taken me a while to update, I had a reaction to peanuts last night which was quite frightening and started off contractions. All fine now but scat at the time.

Anna - can never go wrong with Anna! I just have bad associations :(
Romily - don't like
Elodie - eh, it's okay :)

:)

I have an Isla so I'm biased but I love t and everyone comments on her name. It's not that common where we are but I know it is in other areas.

Others from your list that I love are Elodie and Eleanor. Both were on my list before we decided on Isla.

From the names you like, I prefer Maisie, Imogen & Romily. Think they'll all go well with Edward.

Personal choice, but I wouldn't give the same first initials for my children, so I wouldn't use Eliza, although it is a lovely name.

What about Scarlett or Harriet??

Report

Evelyn - nice but too popular lots of Evies
Eleanor - lovely classic
Imogen - nice but popular I know loads
Sadie - I don't really like
Iris - like but I always think eyes 😕
Rose- slightly dull but stills nice name
Clara - like
Ivy - ivy is not a pretty plant
Rosalind - not keen
Louisa - nice classic
Anna - nice
Romily - pretty
Elodie - a bit faddy but pretty
Jemima - beautiful very under used name
Cora - I know think downton but it's a nice name
Eliza - lovely but do you want 3 DC with same initial?
Ida - very old lady, part of the Eva,Ava, Ida trend but simple and nice have you also considered Ada? I see it as the same group.
Isla - popular but nice

If you love Eliza use it! Jemima rhymes with Eliza and is a rarer name. They are all lovely and you can't go wrong!
