Both fab names!

I'd go for Alexander.

I like both.. My friend called hers Alexander, but calls him Xander, love that.
An old friend called her boy Sebastian but family called him Buster.

Think of how it goes with his surname,.. That was always the deciding factor for my 4

Many congratulations

Alexander I think

We have one and will use the other if we have another boy. They're both great names. I prefer Alex/Ally and Seb as nicknames (if you're lucky enough to get any say).

Thanks so much! I think I prefer Alex to Seb, not sure why. Just pre-empting that my 2yo won't be able to pronounce the full version of either!!! V torn! Nice problem to have of course!

Definitely Alexander

Definitely Alexander for me too. But which suits him better? My second was always going to be Oliver but when he arrived it just didn't suit him. Congratulations, by the way. Flowers

I have a Sebastian. I love his name and most of the time he is a Seb. It suits him I think.

And we are very wc, Yorkshire born and bred and it doesn't sound at all pretentious I don't think. But I do love Alexander too.

I prefer Alexander, but i have one so I am biased Grin
If I had another I'd seriously consider Seb.

Congratulations! I'd vote for Alexander. Do we get a cute newborn photo to help with the recommendation Wink

Alexander.

Congratulations on your lovely bundle. Flowers

Both are lovely but I slightly prefer Sebastian. Alexander/Zander etc seems very, very popular. I also know a 23 year Sebastian who gets called Sebby which I like.

Congrats on your new baby Flowers

Both, use one as a middle name.

Sebastian as its less common, though I prefer the Sabastian spelling as the NN Sab, is IMHO better than Seb

Alexander nn Al, Ally, Alec, Alex, Xander etc. On our list for DC2 Smile

Report
Perniciousness · 28/12/2015 13:09

Popularity wise there isn't actually much between the names. Last year Alexander was 22nd and Sebastian was 38th.

Can't possibly say without a photo Wink

Omg congratulations SmileSmileSmile

I'd personally go for Sebastian but that's just my taste! Both good names.

I prefer Alexander as I don't like the nickname Seb at all.

Also think Sebastian sounds pretentious (apologies to anyone who has one).

Aww. A few hours old. How adorable. Sending him lots of virtual snuggles. Now for him name. Sebastian.

I love Sebastian. I really don't like Alex (I think it sounds really wet), although I don't mind Alexander. They just never get called the full of it
