Any feedback on Matilda, love the name, it won't be shortened. Middle name to be Elizabeth a family name on both sides. Older sisters name is Mollie. What do you think? I go to quite a few groups with dd1 & havn't come accross too many Matilda's. I think it's rather classic & elegant! Do you think it goes well with Mollie?

Matilda is a well liked name amongst many. Tilly or Tilda nn.

For myself I can't stand it, I wouldn't call a woman anything to do with a Mat, or anyone a name with something like the word 'ill' in it.

Sorry.

Elizabeth is a classic, can't go wrong.

Matilda Elizabeth is lovely. Will probably get shortened by friends at some point even if you choose not to. Goes well with Mollie.

It's not a bad name, but it's not something I would use. I know you said no nicknames, but Tilly is rather cute and goes well with Mollie.

Love Matilda
But hate matchy sibling names "Mollie & Matilda" is just too twee and a bit cringey for me

Beautiful name and the combination works really well I think.

I think that Elizabeth as the first name is much nicer. More elegant, better on an adult, a variety of styles of shortening, and where I am, fewer Elizabeth's around compared to the numerous Tillys and Millys we have here.

I don't dislike Matilda, it's just not my cup of tea.

I love Matilda! Well I should as dd is called Matilda! Most people comment on what a lovely name it is and we very rarely meet any others
The main negative is you can never find anything with her name on! It does make dds day though when we do!

I think it's brilliant but I may be biased as I've got a Matilda Elizabeth! I think Mollie and Matilda sound great together and not "matchy". Great choice!

Prefer Elizabeth as first name.

More nn options: Queenie, Beth, Betsy, Buffy, Eliza...

I'm surprised you haven't come across many. It's quite a popular name at the moment.

And what goes up may come down.

Why not go Elizabeth Matilda. Elizabeth is classic.

Love it but I know lots of Matilda's under three. I don't think that should stop you though , DD is a Poppy, there are lots but we still love it

Absolutely lovely. But it will get shortened to Tilly. Being a teacher - I witness them all decide to be Tilly. It's why we have decided against it. So lovely though.

Don't set out to say "won't be shortened" - you might not although I expect you will but they or their friends will. So make sure you don't hate the common short versions.

Plus in my opinion two four syllable names is too much of a mouthful. Both OK with shorter name though.
