So we weren't going to find out the gender but at a 4D scan i was 90% sure i saw boy parts. the last few days the 10% uncertainty was really annoying me and i had a feeling it was a girl so found out today and it is a girl! am shocked and as we had agreed boys' names but cannot agree on a girl name, panicked! Worst part is DH won't let me tell him gender so can't discuss it too much or he'll know! only 7 weeks left!
We have Noah and Sophia already, neither of which were popular when named (in ireland, Noah now very popular). I ADORE their names and want another i love as much. Want something girly, recognisable, easy to spell but not in top 10/20. A boy would have been Luca or Leo.
DH likes:
Ella - i vetoed coz don't like it and it's number 5
Rebecca - lovely name but feel it's been "done", nothing exciting about it
Chloe - same as rebecca although it is a name i've always loved. just think maybe it's a bit boring now.
I like:
Penelope - DH says too long and if it became Penny (we wouldn't use Penny but obviously others might when she's older) would be Penny Brennan, too many "N's?
Clara - but there are two ways to pronounce it and i only like the one which seems less popular so would annoy me correcting people
Elodie - but hate elle/ellie so ruling it out
Lola, Willow, Pearl, Phoebe, Alannah, Annabel, Olivia, Hannah, Calliope, Posie, Poppy, Nicole, Layla - all vetoed by DH
We both like but don't love:
Amaya - spanish name but i worry with so many Mias/Mayas it's not original enough
Mila - i like it but maybe a bit too unusual for me
Love but can't use: Rosa and Elena
Is there anything like Penelope in vibe? as in girly, pretty, unusual but recognisable etc that we're missing?
just thought of Farrah, thoughts?
