Just that, really.

Like it but Posh has ruined it.

Honestly? I think of the beckhams.

If I don't have that association I think I quite like it though!

It's overly trendy, was unusual a few years ago but is now done to death.

I'm not keen.

Vickiyumyum · 05/03/2014 19:51

I love it but wouldn't now as the beckhams used it and everyone would think you named after them.

Really like it and considered it but then the Beckhams used it. Still nice though.

I really dislike it. Makes me think of harpy.

Also reminds me of all those Piper, Hunter type names that are popular in America.

Not keen on surname names anyway and now the Beckhams have made it unusable.

I looked at it in MN baby name section and there was a few negative comments and I was surprised as I though it was lovely.

The Beckhams have made it a bit 'too popular' now.

I thinks it's the #1 baby name in America for 2013.

I like it but I see it as a surname rather than first name :)

HanSolo · 05/03/2014 20:56

Unfortunately, I misread it as 'Herpes' and had to click...

Seminyak · 05/03/2014 20:58

Really like it, don't see the problem with the Beckhams having used it. The popularity of it might be annoying though. But don't think it's popular in the grand scheme of things - it's no Ava/Isabella/Amelia/Grace etc!

I like it. I'll never get to use it though as DH will out his foot down. I might push Piper instead though.

Just no! Your baby will forever be associated with the Beckhams.

Report
DramaAlpaca · 05/03/2014 21:33

I'm not keen. In general I don't like surnames being used for first names, especially for girls.

Report
NoArmaniNoPunani · 05/03/2014 21:34

I prefer Piper

Report
Highlystrungmum · 05/03/2014 21:38

Love it, but for a boy

Report
tallulah · 05/03/2014 21:38

It doesn't sound like a girls name to me.

Report
Lagoonablue · 05/03/2014 22:17

Well Harper Lee is female and is the most famous one I can think of.

Report
PandaWatch · 05/03/2014 22:39

Harper Lee is actually Nelle Harper Lee. I'm not a fan. It sounds like harping on or harpie.

I very much doubt it is the top girls name in the US.

Report
Sparklysilversequins · 05/03/2014 22:40

I love it but again would always think of the Beckhams.

Report
tammytoby · 06/03/2014 09:58

Harper sounds harsh and masculine., more like a boys name.

florascotia · 06/03/2014 10:14

According to US Govt Department of SocialAdministration, Harper is no 24 on list of most popular girls names in USA. Victoria - and Brooklyn, for a girl - are in the US top 100 too. Piper is no 98.

[[Interesting to compare US list with UK:

I like it, but not sure about the Beckham association. How do you feel about "Hadley"? Subtly different.

Report
Apparentlychilled · 06/03/2014 10:19

Love it and considered till the Beckhams used it.
