Names beginning with the letter E - should we make it a sibset

Both dd and ds have names beginning with an E and as we are expecting our third dc, we are considering whether we should continue this tradition. Your thoughts?

There are only a few E names that even interest me and most are girls which are:
Estelle
Elena
Esmee
Everly
Enid
Elowen
Emmeline
Evangeline

As for a boys name we really only have Euan (dh fav) and Ezra (my fav) with Ezekiel and Eachann running as a dark horse contender.

So, should we continue this tradition? Would the third child feel left out if there name doesn't start with the same letter? And regardless of whether you think we should continue, what is your preference regarding the names floated above.

(Also open to new suggestions but not a fan of Elodie, Elouise or Eden which seem to be the big E names at the moment nor can we do anything close to Elizabeth or Elijah as these names, although not the actual name, are close to our other dc names)

I'd just pick a name I loved.

In your situation, I definitely wouldn't chose the same initial for my DC unless my absolute favourite name for DC3 happened to begin with an E, in which case I might consider it. I certainly wouldn't choose a compromise name just so my DC had the same initial - a bit weird IMO. No, I don't think anyone will feel "left out" - over thinking it I would say! Smile

I like Elouise and Ethan . I don't think it's a huge deal if you don't have another "E" name .

^ please spell Eloise properly!

It can be spelt either way , I prefer exactly how it's said .

Personally, we purposefully chose names with different initials for our DCs. If you would prefer another E name that this is totally up to you. FWIW, my favourite E names are Emily and Edward.

Eleni is also nice.....

No! Think of the post.

You already have one Miss E whatever and Mr E whatever. You don't want a third, you'd never know whose was whose.

Appreciate not likely to be a problem for a few years yet but still annoying for the future!

I wouldn't. It's a bit cheesy.

Pick a name you love and if it happens to be an E name then so be it.

I would, I would hate to have DC3 feel left out!

Ellena
Elliot

Re: Eloise. I actually think they are too different names, aren't they?

Elouise would be pronounced El-lou-eez (like Louise with an El on the front)

Whereas Eloise is pronounced El-low-weez

So two names to add to consider OP!

Also like Elizabeth and Edward.

Personally, I think an alliterative sibset is cheesey! I know an EEE (Edward, Eva, Emily) and it's the first thing i notice, they all blend in to one! I also know a sibset made of 2 M names then a G name and it is no big deal at all that the last born isn't the same! You wouldn't even think it was strange! Just choose a name you like!

I would just go with a name you love...

It doesn't matter that you already have 2 E names. What if you go on have a 4th / 5th... You could end up like the Kardashians Wink

Edith is lovely but I don't think it needs to start with the same letter

Not on your list but DD has the middle name Evelyn and it would have been Edward if she had been a boy!

We have three children and two of them are E initials , dd and ds2

Never even thought of the post issues tbh...just two names we liked. I suppose it helps it's boy/girl though.

Eleanor, Elodie, Emmanuella, Etelie,, Eva, Evangeline

I think it's a bit naff to all have the same initial. I knew a family where both parents and the 3 children all had first names starting with the same letter. The third child had a name from a different country from the parents, which just didn't go with the other names. It seemed really forced somehow.
