Which would you choose?

Libby
Thea
Matilda
Willow
Belle
Siún (pronounced Shoon)

Surname starts with Q sound...

Dh is not keen on one or two or the above but is keen on opinions all the same

I dont like Thea because names that start with a Th sound just sound odd to me.

Libby I like, however you will get all and sundry on here saying you simply must have a longer version incase she becomes a High Court Judge

Matilda, I adore, and it is my favourite of all your names. I love the nn Tilda.

Willow, I like but it is exceptionally common (as in used lots) round here

Belle im not a fan of - too Disney.

Siun / Shoon again, not a fan of, prefer Sian or Shona

Matilda

Willow or belle.

Matilda and Willow are lovely. I don't know of any girls called Willow so it must not be as common around here.

I like Libby and Belle as nns.

Libby
Siun
Belle

But i would go for long names on bc. Is Siun short for siobhan. The one siun i know is a siobhan but i dont like that much

Alisvolatpropiis Sun 23-Feb-14 15:43:06

Matilda or Thea.

I think Belle is one of those names that gives a child a lot to live up to. Like Grace, Felicity etc. I know Belle isn't a virtue name but it's in the same category. A plain Belle? A clumsy Grace? A miserable Felicity?

Love Belle but only as a nn, maybe Isobel or Annabel on BC.

Thumbwitch Sun 23-Feb-14 15:53:37

Thea, Matilda, Willow - all fine.

Libby - meh, I don't like it as a standalone name, nor as a nickname.

Belle - ok but with the meaning "beautiful" is a bit risky, I think.

Siun (can't do the accent thing) - bit tricky unless you're in Ireland.

Libby and Thea as nicknames are lovely

Willow and Thea are gorgeous names. I have a friend called Thea who pronounces her name without the h sound so it's Te-a iyswim? I've never met a Willow either baby or adult.
