I like it, pretty but not too fluffy & a good name to grow with a child.

I like it too. Sounds feminine and is easy to spell/pronounce. Also works in many languages. And is not overused as so many cutesy girls' names are these days. Great choice!

It's really growing on me...

Sounds like Arietty from the Borrowers said in a faux posh voice.

Or a wonder pud hybrid of Oreo biscuits and Vienetta ice cream.

I love it but I think its pronunciation - Oar-Yetta - might confuse people, I think people might accidentally pronounce it Orry-Etta.

It's very very very old lady in Italy, and not in a chic way. An Italian child would be called Orietta after her grandmother for example.

Sorry.

It is pronounced Ory-etta. At least in Italy.

Interesting that the oreos and viennetta comment was made. I opened the thread to say I thought it sounded like a chocolate bar...

I pronounced it Ory-etta, I would have thought that unless you were told otherwise or knew otherwise, this is the way you would pronounce it.

It's a type of pasta isn't it?

I was going to say it sounded like a type of pasta.

But quite nice as a name as well Grin

Orechiette is the pasta. But, yes, it does remind me of that as well.

Actually, it's probably how Saint Big Gob Oliver pronounces the pasta.

I immediately thought of the borrowers, sorry op
