Does this name sound odd with our surname?!

Hi

Opinions please... Bub due in September and we don't know what we are having. Tons of girls names we love but boys we are struggling with big time! We love jake (more keen on this than Jacob) but when put with our surname it's, jake Clarke. Say it out loud... Does it sound awkward with the repeated ke sounds?! I think it does but hubby dosent. Otherwise we quite like Seth....
What do u think? any other suggestions, I like trad names
Thanks

Erm I think it does sound like Jay Clarke or Jake Lark, but that's hardly a major issue if you love the name.
I love Seth and think it goes nicely with your surname.

Yes, I think you have to say it very clearly for it not to sound like jay Clarke so it sounds a bit forced.

Seth is better with Clarke.

I'd go for Seth too. Sounds better IMO.

Jacob Clarke sounds nice, and so does Seth, but I agree Jake is a bit awkward

Jasper Clarke would be nice.

I think it works fine.
In the circumstances that you would say both names it would be easy to be precise in the pause and make the names clear,I think.

Jake Clarke is a bit awkward.

LOVE Seth.

Jasper Clarke (nn Jake) is SO cool!

William Clarke has a lovely, strong classic feel to it.

I know a Will Clarke. Sporty teen!

I don't think Jake Clarke is great - the 'ke' and 'C' run into each other too much.

Seth Clarke sounds great. William Clarke fine too.

Agree Jake Clarke sounds awkward though.

Agree with others - it would be a bit like Chloe or Clare with Clarke for a girl - it's ok but doesn't quite flow. How about
Alex
Aiden
Adam
Thom(as)
Dan(iel)
Sam(uel)
Nat(han)
Will(iam)
James
Richard
all strong traditional names that sound good with Clarke

/that's quite hard to say. There's a very loud kuh in the middle.

My friend's DS is called William Clark. Great name, though she does worry about the fact she wasn't aware of the initials until after he was registered.

Yup we just realised the initials wc the other day if it was william...No way! Currently we are liking Ethan. This is so hard!
