Before the song, the connotation would be negative (Samson) but now I think it's probably a cooler and definitely more popular name without those associations.

My brother has a little Delilah and the first reaction is often 'biblical wrong un' but there's also some Tom Jones tributes and then the odd Plain White Whatsits rendition. It certainly splits opinion.

A lovely name Smile . It sounds strong and feminine, I really like it.

Sorry but all I can hear is the crowds at Cardiff rugby matches singing "my, my, my, Delilah ....why, why, why, Delilah" over and over.

I think your DD would get pretty sick of it to be honest. Also I think the bible connotations are pretty bad.

Personally I wouldn't, but then I grew up with an unusual name which I always hated (and eventually changed!) so I may be biased.

I like it, Della for short.

Ok thank you. I do like it but not sure if brave enough. Possibly as a middle name?

NO. Why would you? A lifetime of having the annoying song flung at her and the biblical associations are not good. Also, its ugly imo. But I don't like any 'D' names so that may just be me.

Mark Cavendish's daughter is Delilah. I think it's a lovely name.

I think it's lovely

I personally wouldn't due to associations, even though I like the actual name. Also the song is just one of those songs that will annoyingly be around forever.

Delia?

Yes as a middle name should be ok, she can use it if she wants to that way.

I like it. Della is a name in its own right, I think it means 'noble'.
