After months of thinking we were settled on nanes for dc2, I'm now having a total change of heart and need help! Dc1 is Toby. Have settled on Benjamin for a boy I think but its girls where we're stuck.
I like (in no particular order) summer, ramona and Annie. However, I can't imagine calling a child the first two and don't like the ee ending on Toby and Annie together. So what now?! I quite like Harriet but think its a bit posh for us...any ideas?! Middle name most likely rose or June after female relative.

Daft as it sounds, I like Annie but hate Anna and Anne! I've always loved ramona, after ramona quimby :) I just can't imagine calling my child it though, and dh not keen either :(

What about Ramona nn Romy or Romy as a stand alone name.
Romilly?
Annabel nn Annie?
Harriet is also a lovely name. It doesn't matter where you live or how posh/not posh you think you are, it's still a lovely name and i would go for it if you like it.
All the above would go with either Rose or June
Ramona/Romy/Romilly June
Annabel Rose or June
Harriet Rose

Rumor or Honor?

Just as an aside I know loads of families with at least two, sometimes more, of their children having names ending in 'ee'. Personally if I liked a name enough it wouldn't put me off.

Really dislike Ramona, Summer is pretty. I like Annie as a nn for Anna.
I don't see why you can't just use Annie though, Toby and Annie sound totally different. Harriet is a great name with great nn potential. I don't see it as particularly posh either.

Anna lovely, Annie is very childish I think, ok when younger but embarrassing when older?

What about Bella, iris, annabel, Clara, meg, nancy?

I seriously wouldn't use rose as middle name.... Almost every child in both dds class has it! So common now as nice as it is.

Totally agree about annie being a bit childish, that's my worry too. So annoying about rose as its my granny's name but yes very very popular. I like nancy but its that ee sound again, not so keen on others but thanks for suggestions. Hubby still thinks Harriet sounds too 'posh'. Grr.

Wondering maybe Alice? Nice and classic. Bit boring maybe?

I know Rose is a popular middle name, but is it popular as a first name? I don't know any.

Roseanne or Roseanna

cornflowercrabtree

Rose isn't popular as a first name, but it's a damn good one Wink

Lois is the sister of the boy of that name that I know.

I know and Annie and it's a great name too- grand for a baby but actually it doesn't seem babyish or twee in the way that some ie names can, at least to me.

Although if your surname is Bush, Tree, or even Lane , Rose isn't a great choice perhaps LOL

I actually love Rose as a first name. We're TTC in a few month's time and DH suggested Rose.

I don't think Annie is childish. It's beautiful! Great for a grown up and sounds lovely with Toby. You could use Anna or Annabel with Annie as a nn, so she's got options when older. Harriet also fab.

Summer is far more childish than Annie. Not a name at all imo, and even if it were, I don't like how it sounds or looks!

Ramona is better than summer but doesn't go with Toby - too many long 'o' sounds. Toooby and Ramooona. Nooo.

Alice is lovely, as is Rose. Rosalind?

I love Harriet and think it goes really well with Toby.

Ramona was mona when I was at school which is frightful.

I have a Harriet, it's not too posh, just not too common.

LOVE Alice. Classic and pretty.

I think Toby & Annie sound nice together. I equally like Harriet!

I like Ramona, but all I can think of is that song "m m m my Ramona" etc. Am old gimmer though. Love Rose, and Annie.

Harriet is on my shortlist so I'm a bit biased there.
I think it's a name that will grow well with a child.

I second "Annie-Rose". I'm not a massive hyphen fan, but Shirley Hughes books were def a favourite in our house growing up!

Not keen on any of your girls names sorry.
Alice always seems a bit 'wet' to me.
Ramona is ok, don't like Summer, agree with your DH about Harriet, and prefer Anna to Annie.

How about:
Freya
Ella
Farrah
Laila
Cora
Maya

The Toby I know has a sister Octavia .
