Need some help looking for some suggestions of boys and girls names to go with Sienesi (sir-nee-sea). It's Italian by origin but were not so we'd rather non Italian sounding names, especially as 99% of people pronounce it incorrectly!! We'd also like to avoid anything too popular and don't mind unusual as long as its easy to pronounce and spell wink.

Thinking of James as a middle name for a boy and Poppy or Grace for a girl. Thanks!!

There's nothing dodgy about your surname that means you'll have to avoid certain names. I'd avoid too many SS sounds but that's all.

Personally not sure a name ending in S works with the surname, but I am exhausted and therefore dim this morning.

I wouldn't go for S or hard C in the first name or "e" sound endings due to your surname but that's it really.

Adam, Luke, Robert, Edward (all sound lovely with James)

Laura, Abigail, May

I feel your pain with the surname thing. I desperately loved Elizabeth as a girl's name... our surname's Taylor... I couldn't do it to a child - despite having two girls, both are Elizabethless.

My maiden name was Taylor. First name Lynne. You wouldn't believe how many people mentioned Liz Taylor!

I have an unusual 3 syllable surname too which ruled out lots of names!!
We decided a 2 syllable first name sounded best.

On our shortlist were:
Chloe
Bethan
Lauren

Joseph
Nathan
Leon

How about:
Flora, Anna, Orla, Freya, Megan

Aidan, Joel, Hugo, Alex, Ciaran

I think your surname is quite nice! But then I spent my life up to the age of 25 saddled with Kicks as a surname, so my standards are probably quite low...

I think the previous suggestion of Anton is lovely with your surname. But then it's one of my faves smile
