The name Cleo has popped into my head and I can't stop thinking about it. What do you think? My concerns are that it will always remind people if the Renault Clio and it is name used for cats rather than people. Ideas of other similar names gratefully received

I know a little almost 3 year old Cleo. It's not really my style of names - I tend to go for traditional, classic names, but it really suits her. She has a younger sister Sybella, which is also lovely.

I like Cleo and makes me think of someone stylish and capable.

Perhaps a little feline. Then look at boys'names and how often people chime in with "I had a dog called that!"

I wouldn't automatically think of a car.

How about Chloe as an alternative?

I love it! It's pretty without being sickly sweet.

I'm another one whose taste runs to substantial, classic names... and I really like Cleo.

I do not think of the car. My first association is Cleo Laine, which is no bad thing at all. :)

Like Cleo also. (although we do have a cat called Cleo, it is true). But it is a nice, classic, pretty name.

A great, strong name, love it.

I have a Renault Clio - he is called Sidney.

I like it. Quite quirky but still known. My dd had a Cleo in her previous nursery and there are 2 in her current nursery which suggests it is becoming more popular.

Totally agree math - you just know that you would want her to be your friend at school.

Clio/Kleio is the muse of history.

I love it, it's one of my favourites. I do think Cleo looks prettier.

emmylou, Cleo and Sybella - what amazing names!

Rather biased, but I think Cleo is an excellent name (DD2's name)!

Not impossible to spell.

Goes with our surname and DD1's name.

Feminine and quite pretty, but not wishy-washy. I like mathanxiety's description! Smile

Passes the playground test (are you embarrassed to yell it across the playground) and the careers test (could she be a judge / accountant/ theatre director / hairdresser / artist).

Most people assume it's after Cleo Laine since DH is musical, although it wasn't in her honour.

The biggest downside is that people mis-remember it as Chloe, and that I wonder how many people think "nutters - named their daughter after a small, not very interesting car". But I don't care!

Love it too, although the car thing would probably be enough to put me off.

Love it! Pretty, feisty and not too popular. It reminds me of the very talented girl who appeared on Saturday's 'The Voice', who used to be in the 90s girlband Cleopatra.
