Please be gentle with me as Im 40 weeks pregnant & fed up. I love names & thinking up what I would call my dc.
We have 2 dc & am currently expecting no3. It appears I have very little say in this childs name. Dh & the dc's each have a name they like. Dh is refusing to discuss any further names.

I just need to offload because I feel so Sad about it!

you are carrying the baby so it's very rude of your dh not to include you in the naming process. Choose a name & then you register the birth so that way you have control over the final choice. As a compromise you can add your dh's choice as a middle name.

Pick a name you like, inform your dh as you are the one giving birth this is what s/he will be called. Ask him if he's a bit more open to discussing it now...

You get to name your own baby.

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Well we all know how this works. In your post birth glow, when your DH is melting with love and admiration for your courage and ability. He is in raptures with your new baby. Then you name the baby. How can he refuse after what you have just been through?! Grin

Nilby perhaps it doesn't work like that with a man who is so selfish and intransigent as to refuse to discuss names with his wife.

agree Erik, OP - tackle this now. Think about names you like, pick one you are happy with if your DH didn't have any imput and tell him this is the name you want. If he doesn't want to discuss names then as you have to go register the birth, you will register with that name. If he wants to have some imput, he can discuss it like an adult.
