Have y'all seen this?

names.darkgreener.com/#

We're planning to call DS2 Zacharias and I'd been searching EVERYWHERE to find out how popular it was. Now I know; not very - hooray! Totally addictive site for anyone with an interest in baby naming, i.e. all of us!

Oh thankyou Smile

I'm finding the search box tricky but once I'd managed it, ds2 came up as having 24 sharing his name in 2010 (highest ever!) and 10 the year he was born...ds3's name is showing as 11 of him in 2010, that's the highest too - he's due in January.

There were 520 of ds1 the year he was born.

If you called your child a very unusual name which has only been used 1 or 2 times a year then it doesn't appear.

That's funny. My DS's name (v unusual) had a surge of popularity the year he was born. Everyone must have been watching the same tv programme. Not so original afterall Grin

Is 2011 not on there? My son was born in 2011?? In 2010 there were 17 sharing his name

Interesting. DD1's name has surged massively since 1996, though it's gone from being under 50 to around 300 girls with the name - still not exactly top 10 stuff. Could be a lot of them in 10 years though.

DD2's name is consistently disliked though!

DD1 was one of nine in her birth year, has stayed between 0-9 ever since. DD2 was one of 30, and again, that has stayed roughly the same so far (she is five).

DD's name in peaked in 2000 and now is at an all time low. I'm quite surprised by that, actually! It was a spectacular 1093rd in 2010 Grin

Well, there is a grand total of 9 of my son on the chart since 1996 - only it thinks he's a girl :(

1304 of DS in 2010, although he wasn't born until 2011. I was surprised when I first saw his name was relatively popular - it seems to be universally disliked!

gosh, 67 with DD2's name in 2010, & 209 with DD1's. I would have thought they were similar.

My eldest was 0 the year she was born (1990), everyone thought it was awful - or were polite! Now she's 14th and had she been a boy, she would have been Noah, which again everyone hated and is now very popular! trendsetters we are!!

22 of DD's name in 2010 (she was born 2011) and 44 of me... odd because I've NEVER met another person with my name and I consider DD's to be fairly normal. Mine went up from 3126th to 810th last year. Hers ranks 1389th, down from 1112th.

Interestin'.

I'm from NI but thought I'd check. There was 41 babies born in 2010 with same name. Highest was in 2007 with 50 babies. Wonder if there's an NI site.
