Enough with the boring! Popular yes, but that's not always a bad thing.

Personally I like Noah best, mainly because I don't like the short versions Ollie or Jake for the others. But choose what you love x

Agree nice names not boring!

Oliver has always been a favourite of mine but I can't have it now. Sad

Noah Smile and I don't think your list is boring.

All lovely. Noah would be my choice of the three. Oscar might fit in that list too.

Oliver #2 - 7,007
Jacob #7 - 5,047
Noah #16 - 3,287

All fine names and popular for a reason! I only tend to advise against choosing a popular name if your surname is very common like Smith or Jones or Williams. It's nice to have a more individual name when you want to be recognised professionally or, in this modern age, found on Google!

I like Jacob but not Jake so I'd cross that one off my list. I like Noah but it's had quite a rapid rise up the top 20 and I worry whether it is too 'of the moment''. I'd have to pick Oliver on that basis as it seems to be to be the most classic (in that I can think of Olivers of all ages but only young Jacobs and Noahs).

I'd be inclined to pick less common middle name with a top 20 name.

Oscar popped into my head too.

all were right at the top of my list. love them all. would probably go for noah...... was most upset dp would not let me have any of these. but we have a jude instead now :)

I described them as boring in a more tongue in cheek way as there are so many threads on here with more unusual names. I love all 3 names and luckily so does dp. I was originally put off by names that are too popular but then like a few have said they are popular for a reason. Just have to see what he looks like when he arrives! Middle name would be Samuel after my grandfather.

I like them all but in order of preference would be Jacob, Noah then Oliver.

Good idea to wait till baby comes, I was set on a particular boys name but as soon as Ds appeared, I knew I'd have to rethink!!

My problem with Noah is that it's how my children all said the word "no" when they were small and annoyed.

Noah. I like it because I know a cool teen Noah and it's harder to shorten than Jacob or Oliver and like one of the posters above, I'm not as keen on Jake as Jacob, or on Ollie as Oliver, iyswim![hsmile]

I think we are leaning more towards Noah at the mo.

Jacob first, then Oliver. Dislike Noah with a passion (sorry!)

I love Oliver and I don't care if it's popular.

I don't like Noah. I know some who are a bit wet.

Jacob is nice but if I were to choose a version of James I would pick Hamish. Or just plain James.
