DH and I are looking at baby names, although we're no where near making a decision.

One name on our potential girls list is Alanah but we don't know which spelling is best.
Alana
Alanna
Alanah
Alannah
??

Alana.
I think it's a greatly underused name (we already have many Alan's in the family so wouldn't use it).

Looks like Alannah is winning so far. I just worry that people might pronounce the double-n spelling as ALAN-ah rather than a-LAH-nah Confused

Alannah. It would not cross my mind to say Alan - ah rather than A-lan-ah.

Alana. Others look fussy & frilly to me.

They may pronounce it that way, but if you use Alana, you'll get some saying a-LAY-nah. I do think most people will get it right spelling it Alannah. Smile

Alannah, I'm Irish and have never seen it with another spelling. Gorgeous name.

That's funny I'm American & a 70s kid, and Alana was the only spelling I encountered growing up.
