Jamie Oliver's son.

Isn't it slang for something? I think Charles but not certain. It's very American. I'm not mad on it tbh, certainly not in Dublin anyway ("alright buddy, hows it goin", etc)

Sorry, really don't like this. Can't imagine a grown man introducing himself as "Buddy" and being taken seriously and you wouldn't call a child "Mate' or "Pal" so why "Buddy"?

It's awful.Fine as a nickname,but certainly not as a first name,not for a human. It suits my dog though.grin

Buddy Ebsen was actually Charles, can't you just use it a nn?

Chuck is short for Charles I thought...

Buddy, well it's fine as a nickname imo.

Buddy the Elf? Great film.

It IS a bit different. Good reason though.

It is a bit different yes. Not in a good way though.

You have to remember that your cute little baby will grow up into a man. A man that will not thank you if you name him Buddy.

Find a proper name that will allow you to use Buddy as a nn if you really love it.

Sorry, but do not like at all. Says 'golden retriever' to me...
